Costa Tropicale

Built as Tropicale at the erstwhile Aalborg Vaerft in Denmark, designed by Joseph Farcus Architect P.A., Costa Tropicale was the first newly built ship of Carnival Cruise Lines introducing amongst many other new design features, the famous winged funnel, which later became the hallmark of all Carnival ships. Nevertheless, when transfered to Costa cruises the original funnel was removed.
The ship was transferred to P&O Australia in 2006 and served as Pacific Star until 2008 when the vessel was sold to Pullmantur Cruises and renamed Ocean Dream.
A plan of Costa Tropicale is available at Associazione Navimodellisti Bolognesi.
