AIDAnova, built by Meyer Werft, was the first large LNG powered cruise ship - following the cruise ferries Viking Grace and Bergensfjord / Stavangerfjord, the first large passenger ships using LNG. The introduction of LNG to passenger shipping is a significant step towards reduction of gaseous emissions.
