Silja Symphony

The Silja Symphony and her sister, the Silja Serenade, were designed by FFNS AB (now SWECO) and built by Masa-Yards (see Meyer Turku webpage) for the Stockholm Helsinki service of Tallink - Silja Line.
Not only were they the largest passenger ferries for many years, these ships also pioneered a new kind of street like enclosed promenade deck. Such promenades can also be found aboard Color Fantasy, Voyager of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas class vessels of Royal Caribbean International.
The here presented clips were recorded during a roundtrip aboard the Silja Symphony in the year 2000.
Sadly, technical problems with the camcorder occurred so please excuse the occasional interferences.
For further informations on the Silja Symphony and her sister, the Silja Serenade you may wish to browse through Fakta om Fartyg or read the DESIGNS'91 magazine by ShipPax Information.
